The Samaritans Hong Kong
When things feel low, someone is here to listen

A safe place to talk
When feelings build until it becomes hard to breathe, saying what is on your mind can be an important first step. Volunteers at The Samaritans Hong Kong listen patiently, without judgement or pressure, and without expecting you to find an immediate answer.
Everyone's experience is different. We respect your pace and give you room, within a confidential conversation, to make sense of how you feel and face what is in front of you.
Listening is a form of companionship
We will not make decisions for you or force advice upon you. Our volunteers offer genuine, empathetic support, so you do not have to carry this moment entirely on your own.
Feeling understood can help choices and hope come back into view. Every conversation is a way of staying alongside someone through a difficult part of life.

Making room for hope
A difficult situation may not disappear after one call, but being heard can create some breathing space. You can talk about anything, whether it feels momentous or ordinary.
If you feel alone, without hope or are having thoughts of suicide, please give yourself the chance to be heard. We are here to stay with you through this moment.
