When you are facing thoughts of suicide, please stay

A quiet place to pause and seek support during a crisis

You do not have to face this alone

When pain makes it seem as though there is no way through, thoughts of suicide can become intense. These feelings need to be taken seriously, and you deserve immediate care and someone willing to listen.

Try to tell someone you trust what is happening, or contact an emotional support service. If you do not know how to begin, it is enough to say, “I am finding things very difficult right now.”

Make the next moment safer

If you are in immediate danger, move away from anything or anywhere that could cause you harm and seek emergency help as soon as you can.

During the hardest moments, make time smaller: take one breath, sit down, or stay connected with one person. You do not have to solve everything at once.

Let us stay with you through this moment

Volunteers at The Samaritans Hong Kong are ready to listen to your pain without judgement or dismissing how you feel.

A crisis can change, and feelings can change. Please give yourself more time, and allow another person to share the weight with you.
